Adepticon is upon us, and we have already begun taking in lots of great submissions for the Crystal Brush 2013 Finals. There are some fantastic entries already, and more are streaming in every minute! Our photographer is hard at work putting together the image upload we will use to arrange for peer judging online tomorrow night, so we will soon have a number of great pictures of some of the finest models to look upon…but not before judging can begin! We don’t want to spoil some of the “wow factor” we know you guys will be getting from these pieces of art!

Adepticon is almost here! The opening of submissions for the Crystal Brush 2013 Finals will be crossing our desk in just 48 hours, and we couldn’t be more excited. After seeing the amazing turnout and models that filled our galleries at the last year’s Finals as well as the numerous Road to Crystal Brush qualifying events leading up to this moment, there is simply no telling what will turn up this year.

As we pack up our cameras, light boxes, labels and other necessary gear to host the Finals in Chicago this weekend, we know that miniature artistes will be carefully packing up their own best works as well. In just two short days we all will be converging on Lombard, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago) to bring some of the best painted, sculpted, converted and conceptualized miniatures together in the same cases…and awarding them accordingly for their excellence.

With the moment drawing closer, we want to extend a deep thank you to all of our sponsors, fans and contributors who help make Crystal Brush one of the best and most prestigious miniature painting competitions in the industry. In one week, seven short days, we will be accepting miniatures from all over the world to enter in the prestigious 2013 Crystal Brush Finals in Chicago, Illinois at the Adepticon game convention. There will be entries from all over the world being put under the limelight, and thanks to our direct connection with the esteemed Ravage Magazine US, many of the greatest pieces will not only win trophies and cash prizes… but will also find themselves published in glossy detail in its pages soon enough.

Crystal Brush and all of its sponsors are eager to see what sorts of miniatures will soon be joining the ranks of the past years’ winners. We are looking forward to showing the world the kinds of miniatures that can be called Crystal Brush Winners – especially the $10,000 Best in Show!

Even though the 2013 Crystal Brush Finals are not quite done yet, Cool Mini or Not is already getting geared up for the new 2014 season for the esteemed Crystal Brush miniature painting competition! Hot on the heels of the big 2013 final event in April, Cool Mini or Not is hosting the first Road to Crystal Brush 2014 Qualifying event at their debut gaming convention – The Cool Mini or Not Expo over May 17th, 18th and 19th!

Come out to the show and bring your best and most skillfully painted pieces, pit them against other hopeful pieces, and possibly come out on top to win some great prizes…even airfare to the 2014 Crystal Brush Finals!!!!

Submissions will take place between the hours of 12pm to 6pm on May 17th and 18th; at which point a panel of Cool Mini or Not appointed judges will determine the winning entries. Awards will be announced at 2pm on the 19th…at which time entrants will be able to pick up their models as well.

As the opener to the Crystal Brush 2014 season, we are hosting three different categories that will all have a chance to earn some credit at the Cool Mini or Not webstore. The categories at the Expo Crystal Brush Qualifier are:

- Fantasy Single Miniature or Squad
- Sci-Fi Single Miniature or Squad
- Historical or Steampunk Single Miniature or Squad

Each of the categories earns its own set of prizes and work toward the Best in Show award. The 2nd Runner Up in each category gets a $25 voucher to spend on the Cool Mini or Not webstore, a 1st Runner Up gets a $50 voucher, and the 1st Place winner gets a $75 voucher!

That’s not all! The Best in Show over the entire competition is rewarded with reimbursed airfare to the Crystal Brush Finals in 2014 for a chance at the grand prize money!

Hello Crystal Brush fans!

As the date to Adepticon draws nearer and nearer, we at the Crystal Brush want to make sure that everyone looking to get involved in the competition has all the right information to do so!

Adepticon 2013, the site for the Crystal Brush Finals, takes place over April 18th through the 21st at the fabulous Westin Lombard Yorktown Center in Chicago, Illinois (technically Lombard, Illinois). Once the convention is underway, there will be specific windows of opportunity to enter your miniatures into the runnings.

April 19th: 10:00am to 4:00pm
April 20th: 10:00am to 12:00pm

Online judging of entrants will begin on the Cool Mini or Not website April 20th at 8:00pm and run all the way through until April 21st at 8:00am.

After compiling all of the online voting and giving our head judge, Roman Lappat, a chance to put his eye to the entrants…the awards ceremony will be held in the afternoon on April 21st!
